Cathy Wetzel, age 70, of Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026.

Cathy Faye Wetzel was born on February 25, 1956, in Brookfield, MO, to Paul and Blanche (Drummond) Lineberry. She was the middle of three children, Brenda (Lineberry) Cullen, and Paula (Lineberry) Roberts. She became a mother early in life, welcoming her children, Andy and Jamie, who remained at the center of her world. She was deeply devoted to her children and growing family throughout her life. On December 18, 1993, she married Rick Wetzel, and together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and strong family values.

Cathy’s life was guided by her deep and unwavering faith in God. She lived with compassion, grace, and quiet strength, always showing up for others without hesitation. She found her greatest joy in her family, creating traditions, cooking, sewing, and cherishing time together, often over a simple cup of coffee. She believed wholeheartedly that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and trust in God’s plan.

She spent her career as a financial aid specialist, serving students with dedication and care.

Her kindness and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Rick Wetzel; her children, Andy Jackson (Amanda), Jamie Crespo (Luis), Richard Wetzel (Amy), and Erin Wetzel; her grandchildren and great-granddaughter; sister, Brenda Cullen, and many beloved siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Paula Roberts.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Cathy is at peace with the Lord, and her love and faith will continue to guide us.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Cathy’s memory by caring for others the way she always did with kindness, compassion, and without hesitation.
