Catherine Dunlop, 89, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away on October 13, 2019. She was a resident of Brandon Woods. Prior to that she lived in both Lawrence and Gardner, Kansas. Catherine was born to Eugene and Christine Ereth and lived at 95th and Metcalf, which was then rural Johnson County. She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission High School. She married John C. Dunlop and they lived in Mission, Kansas. Catherine was a member of The Kansas City Ladies Golf Association and won many tournaments at country clubs in the Kansas City area. She was a member of Lake Quivira Country Club and spent many days golfing there. Catherine also loved watching sports and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and Kansas Jayhawks fan. She loved the Marching Jayhawks band. Catherine worked at schools in Johnson County before ending her career at KU working in the department of Continuing Education and Aerospace Engineering. She was a member of The League of Women Voters and a proud lifelong Democrat. Catherine is survived by three children: David Dunlop, of Gardner, Barbara Dunlop, of Lawrence, and Martha Dunlop Wenzel and husband Scott, of Lawrence. She is also survived by a grandchild, Rich Dunlop. Service Catherine will be remembered at a mass in her memory at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, Kansas at 5:30 on October 31st. The mass is also celebrating All Saints Day, a holy day that Catherine loved. A gathering will follow at Johnny's North in Lawrence.
