The family and friends of Carolyn Ann Kessler mourn her death on January 9, 2015. She was the second of four daughters born to Christine and Claude Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of Independence, Missouri where she received her Bachelor & Master's degrees in Education at the University of Central Missouri and Webster University. She loved children and taught 4th grade at Blackburn Elementary School for 31 years, where she touched the lives of all who came into contact with her. Her loves included traveling, jogging, and spending time with her family. She was an avid and competitive runner, a lifelong reader, and a loyal friend to all, including her many beloved pets. She was very devoted to her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, father and older sister. She is survived by her husband, Richard, daughter, Christy Kessler-Soeken, son, Patrick Kessler & wife Lisa, 4 grandchildren- Caroline, Carson, Madison, and Bode and sisters Catherine Clarke and Cecilia Imming, along with 4 nieces and 2 nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Katzenstein, Dr. Mark Hamblin, their staff, and the ICU unit at Kansas University Medical Center who took dedicated care of her. She will be missed forever by all.
