Butch Parrish age 79, passed away February 13, 2026, in Kansas City, Kansas. Born on September 30,1946, in Madison, Tennessee, he lived a life marked by dedication tohis family and friends.
Butch was the beloved son of James and Annie Parrish. He grew up in a large family sharing his early years with five brothers and six sisters. Throughout his life, Butch remained close to his siblings and extended family, cherishing the bonds that shaped his upbringing.
A proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Butch served his country with honor and courage. His military service was a defining chapter of his life, reflecting his commitment to duty and sacrifice for others.
After returning home from service, Butch built a loving family with his wife of 38 years Linda. Together they raised their son James. In 1986 they moved to Robinson to live a quiet life in the country. Though Linda preceded him in death, her memory remained ever-present in his heart.
Butch’s legacy continues through his surviving family: his son James and daughter-in-law Samantha Parrish; grandson Sebastian Parrish and wife Karla along with their two children; granddaughter Sara Harris and husband Devin along with their four children. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Moore and Frances Hamilton, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his life.
He was proceeded in death by his parents James and Annie Parrish; his beloved wife Linda; five brothers and 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews to whom he was close.
Throughout the years, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His warmth extended beyond family to all those whose lives he touched.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
