Obituary

Bobbie Bostick, (85) born July 20, 1931 in Vine Grove, Kentucky went Home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 3, 2016 in Lawrence, Kansas after a sudden advanced development of Alzheimer's. She was a 39 year multiple cancer survivor. She was the daughter of George and Eileen Gambrall, both deceased, as well as her older sister Ginger Neusel. Her family lived in Detroit, Michigan where she met the love of her life, Clint "Hank" Bostick. They were married 64 years. Her greatest gift in life was four children; Krista (Lee) Campbell/FL, Becky (Michael) Harris/KS, Matthew (Jill) Bostick/KS and Amy (Richard) Kepler/AL; who gave her five Grandchildren of which the oldest is deceased, six Great Grandchildren and one Great, Great Granddaughter. Bobbie sang tenor for 26 years with the Cracker Jills, the Sweet Adeline's 1957 International Championship quartet. She was the Director of the Downriver-Dearborn Chapter Chorus in Detroit, MI as well as coach and music arranger for many top Barbershop and Sweet Adeline quartets. They lived in Palm Beach County Florida for 33 years, where she worked in the Cardiology Department at St. Mary's Hospital (19 years) and was a nanny for newborn infants (10 years) in Palm Beach. She and her husband then settled in Lawrence, KS. Family, singing, and visiting folks across the country were her favorite pastimes. Through genealogy research, she traced her family back to 160AD. They never wrote enough books for her to read! She was actively on her computer Googling everything and sharing anecdotes, family photos and prayer requests. In her honor and memory, donations would gladly be received by the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 1501 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, KS 66044 on September 9th at 6:00 PM
