Billie Nell Graham was born April 14, 1931 and passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 12: 45 pm in her home at Vintage Park-Lenexa Assisted Living. Born to Thomas Fredrick Bates, Sr. and Florence Willa Mae Burnett of Olathe, KS, Billie attended Olathe schools. After graduation from High School she attended Kansas University School of Nursing. She moved to California where she married Larry J. Reed which ended in divorce. Later in life she married Donald L. Graham of Los Angeles and they lived in Compton, CA. They were married 41 years when Donald died October 21, 2010. While in Compton, Billie was a deaconess at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a preschool teacher at Delta Sigma Bheta Head Start in Santa Monica, CA until she retired. Billie leaves to cherish her memory her five brothers, Printes R. B. Bates (Evelyn), Albert H. Robinson (Nette), Delbert R. Robinson, Dale M. Robinson (Lana) and Gregory D. Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends. Inurnment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
