The Christie family announces the passing of William Christie (aka Billy Christie, Jr) on July 24, 2023 at age 91.

Bill was born on Jan 24, 1932,  in Kansas City Missouri, the only son of William Christie and Mary Alyce (aka Josephine) Stewart.  Bill spent much of his childhood with his adoring grandmother, and grandfather, Ella and Washington Stewart, in Beatrice, Nebraska.   Bill graduated from Argentine High School, and went on to graduate from the University of Kansas in 1953 with a degree in Accounting, which likely served him well in his many poker games throughout his life.  While in college, he met Irma Lewis, and they were married for 68 years. They had 5 children:  Nancy, Sharon, Kathee, William Stewart (Joe), and Michael.

Bill served in the US Army in Germany during the time of the Korean War, and was selected to specialize in military intelligence and communications.   He returned home, started a family, and went on to work in the printing industry for several years.   He became the consummate salesman – happy to talk to nearly anyone, with a smile, a handshake, and often sharing a good joke.

Bill leaves behind his wife Irma, his children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many memories of his sense of humor, and how much he enjoyed playing poker, golf, and bowling.

A memorial mass is planned for October 7th at Good Shephard church 12800 w 75th st lenexa ks at 11:00am
