Beverly Ann Wilson passed away peacefully on August 27th at Park Meadows in Overland Park, Kansas after battling failing health for many months. Beverly was born on November 23, 1934, to Harvey Vail and Iola Leinenweaver in Sigourney, Iowa and she graduated from Thornburg High School in 1952. After high school, Beverly trained at the Gail Institute and was employed by Wisconsin Airlines in Madison, WI, and Minneapolis, MN. On May 10, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart Burris G. Wilson. While Burris was deployed with the Air Force to Korea, Beverly worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, IA. After Burris returned from Korea, he and Beverly were stationed at Warner Robins AFB in Georgia where Beverly worked as a civil servant. In 1957 Beverly and Burris moved to Overland Park, Kansas. Beverly soon applied her piano-playing talent to serve as organist for the newly formed Valley View United Methodist Church. After spending many years in Overland Park raising three children, they retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1994. There Beverly enjoyed many creative interests such as quilt making, cross-stitching, crocheting, dulcimer playing, and bird watching. She worked as a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association, was an avid reader of westerns and mystery novels, and a devoted fan of college sports teams, particularly the Arkansas Razorbacks. In 2019 Beverly and Burris returned to Overland Park to be closer to family. Beverly leaves behind Burris her husband of 68 years, children Wendy (Greg) Abbott of Broken Arrow, OK, David (Michele) Wilson of Shawnee, KS, and Tricia (Lawson) Rener of Leawood, KS, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a brother Max Vail of Des Moines, IA.
