The lord has claimed yet another angel from this realm. Beverely J. Burton, 84, of Stilwell, KS. died after a long and courageous battle with her illness on April 2, 2017, at the Kansas City Transitional Care Center. Beverely was born March 1, 1933, to Lessie and Edith (Jansen) VanZant in St Joseph, MO. She was reared and educated in Wichita, KS graduating from Wichita East High School. After high school Beverely attended Wichita State University. On August 28, 1953, she married Robert D Burton. Together they had five children and made their home abroad wherever the US Air Force sent them, finally settling in Johnson County KS. following retirement from the military. Beverely worked for Farmers Insurance and Johnson County (Kansas) Community College until her retirement. She was a caring mother and loved spending time with her family and was very active in her church. She enjoyed gardening and was a life long supporter and fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Survivors include her daughter Rebecca Hartsfield and husband Ed of Boise, ID; daughter Julie Beach and husband Harold of Stilwell, KS; daughter Margie Crable and husband Bill of Lenexa, KS; Son Bob and wife Marja of Lee's Summit, MO; daughter Priscilla Maschler and husband Sean of Shawnee, KS. ; sister Ruann Dennis and husband Philip of Roy WA. ; sister Carolyn Roudebush and husband Forrest of Kansas City MO. ; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Beverely was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marceline, her grandson Andrew, and the two loves of her life, Nikki and Mattie, her beloved pets. The family would like to recognize all of the caregivers and residents of Kansas City Transitional Care Center that were a such a special part of our mother's life. Memorial Service Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:30 p. m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Unity Temple on the Plaza. Friends may greet the family after the services.
