Betty Jane Thomas Howell, 95, of Shawnee, Kansas died January 28, 2014 at Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living. "I think to myself what a wonderful life…to be surrounded by such love and fierce protection as one transitions. No regrets, many blessings. " Her entire family was with her as she took her last breath. Betty lived a precious live. She was a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservancy of Music and taught piano for over fifty- years to scholars of all ages. She grew up in Oklahoma and was treasured by her Mom and Dad who adopted her at the age of eight. Betty was preceded in death by her father Walter Thomas 1934, her mother Mary Thomas 1951, her husband Red Howell 1995 and her son Tom Bezzi 1995. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and David Disney of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandsons, Elliott Disney of Oakland, California and Louis Disney of Lawrence, Kansas. Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life, February 15, 2014 at 10 a. m. , with Catholic service at 11 a. m. the family's home.
