Barry W. Luck, 76, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2011. He was diagnosed with metastatic brain cancer in September and slowly slipped away at home. Cremation. Barry is survived by Elizabeth (Alfes) his wife of 48 years; daughter Jennifer, her husband Dan Bowersock and their children Lauren and Danny of New Jersey; son Barry D. , his wife Jennell and their children Caleb and Brandon of Manhattan, Kansas. Barry is also survived by his sister Barbara Frisosky and her family in Florida; brother Tom Luck, his wife Peg and family in Michigan; and sister Maggie, her husband John Janick and their daughter in Colorado. Also surviving are his wife's three siblings their spouses and children. Barry grew up in Lansing, Michigan and spent summers enjoying the family cottage at Higgins Lake. Barry graduated from Central Michigan University and Michigan State University with undergraduate and master's degrees in bio-chemistry. In the early years he worked for Dow Chemical Company, the Michigan Health Department and Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company in Michigan. He later joined Xerox in sales and moved his family to Sioux Falls, SD and finally to Overland Park, Kansas where he eventually retired from Xerox. After that he joined Municipal Leasing Credit Corporation as a financial broker and enjoyed many years there. Barry loved life, his family and travel. He had a passion for University of Michigan football and enjoyed playing golf and poker with friends. He was a communion minister for the homebound and organized food drives for Catholic Charities of Johnson County. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 10:00a. m - 11:00 at Cure of Ars Church, 9401 Mission Rd. , Leawood Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00a. m. Followed by a luncheon at the church. Internment in Lansing, Michigan.
