Barbara L. Goodheart, 91, of Overland Park , Kansas, died August 11, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was born April 21, 1920 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, daughter of Abe and Christine Ver Heek Pett. During Barbara's life, she enjoyed traveling with family & friends, playing golf as well as a good game of Bridge. She will be remembered for her upbeat personality and great sense of humor. She cherished times spent with her son and family including her 3 granddaughters and 2 great-grandchildren. She was happiest in her home of 25 years on Sugar Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She is survived by her son Michael, wife Linda, granddaughters Jill Goodheart (husband David Heaton), Gretchen Stewart (husband Jeffrey) and Kendal Goodheart; great-granddaughter Olivia Jane Stewart, great-grandson Miles Heaton Goodheart and several nieces, nephews and friends. Services in Kansas City will be September 10, 2:00 pm at the Grand Court Retirement Village in Overland Park, Kansas There will be a Memorial service on Sugar Island in August of 2012.
