Arthur David Fitzgerald, 82, left us July 22, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri. His home in Independence, Missouri was preceded with homes in Arizona, Texas and New Jersey. A Mass will be held in his honor August 7, 11 AM at St. Mark's RC Church, Independence, Missouri. Inurnment, 2:30 PM at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Kansas. Arthur was born August 3, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of Arthur Herman Fitzgerald and Isabelle Fitzgerald. He proudly served in the UnitedStates Air Force for over six years. In 1957, in Elmhurst, New York, he married Anna Kutasz, of Maspeth, Queens, NYew York. While raising a young family, he attended Pace College in Lower Manhattan, part time at night to earn his Bachelor's of Administration Degree. He worked for Caltex Petroleum Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 1988. Among his many accomplishments he was named to the prestigious MENSA Scholar Society. While raising four young children he was active in Little League and Boy Scouts, and traveled with his family and friends, camping throughout the eastern US and Canada. After retirement he continued his travels throughout the continental US, Alaska and Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Arthur is survived by his wife, Anna, sons, Arthur and his wife Joye, Holden, Missouri, Brendan, Independence, Missouri and Robert, and daughter Coleen and her husband Kevin Knox, Watauga, Texas, and six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
