April Lorraine Shockey, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 28, 2024, in Kansas City, Kansas, after bravely battling Alzheimer's disease. She was born on May 20, 1970, in Kansas City, Kansas.April lived a life filled with love and joy, finding happiness in the simple pleasures of reading, traveling, and spending time with her cherished family and friends. She was a dedicated member of Jehovah's Witness and Special Olympics, where she found solace and community in her faith and shared passions.Having attended high school and been baptized, April embraced life with a kind heart and unwavering spirit. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity, leaving behind beautiful memories that will be forever treasured.April is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles, and nephew. She is survived by her loving mother Paula Kempf, father Carl Raymond Shockey, brothers Devin and Anthony (Jeanette) Shockey, nieces Brandi (Mike) Harsh, Stephanie (Tim) King, niece Melanie Shockey, nephew Elias Ramirez, and great nieces and nephews.In honoring April's life, no formal services will be held, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
