Rose Anne Linn, who went by Ann Linn for most of her life, was born on October 13, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Floyd Oliver Roberts and Lorietta Marie Lyons Roberts. She had two siblings, Robert Earl Dean and Delores Marie (Roberts) Moore. Ann grew up in the church, where her mom played organ and piano, and developed a life-long love of music. Ann was an accomplished soprano vocalist and participated in many of her high school's musical productions.
In 1957, she married Frederick Harold Linn, of Fort Worth, Texas. The couple settled in Fort Worth, and, then, Arlington, Texas, and raised two girls together, Marci Dianne Linn and Kathryn Ann (Linn) Creel. During the early 1970s, Ann completed her college education, earning a degree from Tarrant County College, majoring in music and education.
She used her skills for decades teaching children's Sunday school, Bible summer school, and musical programs, as well as singing in several church choirs. After the death of her husband in 1991, Ann worked for the UTA Police Department in Arlington, as a secretary (and finger-printer) in the Criminal Investigations Department, a job that she would cite as her all-time favorite job.
After 2001, Ann split her time living between Kansas and Texas to be close to her growing family. Ann Linn passed away on January 5, 2023, at the age of 87. A devout Christian all her life, Ann spent her life living for and teaching others about God, including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Marci Linn, of Weatherford, Texas, and Kathryn Linn Creel, of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren Bradley Sauls, Shaunna Sauls Rodriquez, Graham Porter, April (Porter) Jokic, Margaux Porter, and Landon Creel; and great grandchildren Samuel Sauls, Sagan Rodriquez, Lilia Sauls, and Newton Rodriquez; along with beloved nieces Sheryl Moore, Brenda Moore, Debbie Nattress, and Susan Dean; and son in laws Scott Creel and Mike Waddell.
The celebration of life service will be on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at First Christian Church, Arlington (910 S. Collins Street, Arlington, Texas, 76010) with immediate family and friends.
