Anita Marie Strub, a Kansas City native born on November 24, 1941, left this world on May 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Anita wore many hats in her life, from her various jobs to her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
Anita had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies. She was an avid cook, finding joy in the kitchen and experimenting with new recipes. Her hands were always busy with creative projects, and she had a knack for making beautiful things. Gardening was one of her passions, and she found joy in tending to her plants and flowers.
Anita's fondest memories were made at Lake Lotawana, where she spent countless hours enjoying the beauty of the lake and creating cherished moments with her loved ones.
Anita was also a proud member of the Kansas City Women's Choir, where her love for singing brought joy to both herself and those around her.
A loyal supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, Anita was no stranger to cheering on her favorite teams. Her love for Elvis Presley's music could rival any die-hard fan, and she could recite classic movie lines with the best of them.
Anita is survived by her son Gary Strub (Tina) of Kansas City, grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew (Nova), and Ashton, daughter Roxanne Strub and grandson Tyler Leek, and son Brian Strub (Melissa) and grandchildren William and Elizabeth. She is preceded in death by her brothers Glen, Ray, and Lee Elvins, and her parents Dozier and Maude Elvins.
A memorial service celebrating Anita's life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 16th, at Wyandotte County Christian Church located at 13700 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, KS.
