Allan Brown Dodge, 62, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home March 25, 2012 surrounded by his three sons and devoted wife. Allan was a loving husband, selfless father and loyal friend. He was born October 15, 1949 in Madison, Wisconsin and was the third child of Betty and A. Durston Dodge. He spent his childhood in Rochester, NY, moving to Kansas in 1974 to pursue a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Kansas. Allan was a passionate fisherman, loved the outdoors and was an active church member. He was the Director of the School at Rainbow Mental Health Facility for 27 years. Allan is survived by his wife, Virginia, three sons, Maxwell, Patrick and Sam, his daughter-in-law, Shelli Dodge, and two grandchildren Zella and Charlie Dodge. He is also survived by his siblings; Deb (Rich) Schroeder, Dusty (Chris) Dodge, Patty (Steve) Arsenault and Chris (Marilyn) Dodge and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church, 7406 Ward Parkway, KCMO 64114. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the church or Odyssey Hospice, 8735 Rosehill, Ste 200, Lenexa, Kansas 66215. The family expresses their appreciation to Salomon and the staff at Trinity Nursing & Rehab Center and the caregivers of Odyssey Hospice for their loving care of Allan.
