Alicia Kay Saunders, 44, of Kansas City went to be with her Savior on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky on March 22, 1970, to the late Alex and Barbara Saunders. Alicia graduated from Kansas City East High School and completed her cosmetology certification shortly after. She spent the next 18+ years as a well respected hairdresser in the Kansas City area. Alicia's faith, family and friends were her priorities. She touched many lives as a hairdresser and truly invested in relationships as a result. She had a heart of service and used her profession as a way to give back. Alicia was a very passionate mentor to many people and truly a light wherever she went. Alicia is survived by four children (Kenicia Martin, Ticheyla Martin, Micheyla Martin, Greg Buckman) and one daughter in law (Tayla Buckman). She is also survived by three siblings (Denise Frazer, Jessica White, Desmond Saunders), two grandchildren (King Woodland, Azaila Woodland) and many beloved nieces and nephews. Alicia also leaves behind many friends that were also considered family. Her celebration of life will take place at 6:30 p. m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Church of the Harvest in Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Church of the Harvest on Alicia's behalf.
