Alice was born in Andale, KS and received her BA in Sociology from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS, where she resided. She devoted much of her life to social work while working at the VA and at Catholic Charities in Leavenworth and was an active volunteer in the community. She also managed three H&R Block offices with her husband, Jack, for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her father and mother, George and Delphine Wetta, and her brother, Paul Wetta. She is survived by her son, Anthony (Kim) Lewandowski, her daughter Lona Lanter, and her brothers, Norbert Wetta, Louis (Ruth) Wetta, Earl (Janice) Wetta, and her sisters, Sr. Therese Wetta, Marlene (Wayne) Rethman, Susan Wetta, Joanne (Mark) Moore, Eileen (Arlan) Murry, Janet (Sam) Lyda as well as five grandchildren, Tony (Nicole) and Chase (Elizabeth) Lewandowski, Taylor (Ben) Beasley, Dustin and Jordyn Lanter and three great-grandchildren, Hadley and Harper Lewandowski and Charlotte Lanter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice loved spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as her brothers and sisters and their families and looked forward to the Wetta Women Sisters Weekends. She loved travel, golf and being the best mentor to her children that a child could ask for. She was strong in her faith and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
