Janssen attended Border Star Elementary School and Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the Navy as an officer in the Civil Engineer Corps during World War II and the Korean War. Perhaps his most prized membership was in the Quill Investment Club for 60+ years with his dear friends. He also enjoyed friendships and a good round of golf as a member of The Kansas City Country Club. Winters were spent at their condominium at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Destin, FL, often shared with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hope Christopher Wooldridge; three children and their spouses: Alexander and Mary Trotter Wooldridge, Prairie Village, Kansas; Janette and Michael Everhart, Overland Park, Kansas; Christopher and Jane Higgins Wooldridge, Prairie Village; six grandchildren, Darby and Caroline Wooldridge, Wesley and Jessica Everhart, and Libby and Frances Wooldridge; and a brother and his wife, Jay and Ann Wooldridge, Prairie Village and five nieces and nephews.
