A. James "Jim" Lemon, 75, passed away November 2, 2010, at his home after battling cancer. Mr. Lemon was born October 5, 1935, in West Virginia, to Camille and Audra Aven Lemon with his two brothers and six sisters. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. While stationed in Arizona he met Barbara Ray. He & Barbara married on April 1,1959 in Yuma, AZ and returned to West Virginia where he worked for Dansers Sheet Metal in Parkersburg. Jim joined the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 2 in 1962. After an honorable discharged from the U. S. Air Force in 1963, they moved to Lawrence, KS where he worked for Lawrence Paper Company. He started working at Standard Asbestos in 1963 and in 1964 they moved to Kansas City, KS. Later he became a sheet metal worker at J&L Sheet Metal. Jim received the 25-year Sheet Metal Workers' Local 2 Union service pin in 1989, retired in 1992, and received the 40-year service pin in 2004. He and Barbara retired to Perry Lake, KS. Mr. Lemon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Lemon; children, Terry & Doris Lemon, Duane & Jeannette Lemon, Bob & Lisa Lemon, and Pam Lemon & Jim Corbidge; and grandchildren, Michael, David, and Kellie Lemon; Chad, Laura, and Christina Walker; Megan Lemon; Kristin, Stephanie, and Matthew Lemon; Tyler Corbidge; great-granddaughter Keaton Walker.
