Nina Irene (Burger) Adamson
Nina Irene (Burger) Adamson, 80, passed away peacefully the morning of January 10, 2011. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nina was born to Ernie and Ruby Burger, Arkansas, on September 19, 1930 and was raised in Illinois. She married Virgil James in 1949, and lived in England, Turkey, and throughout the U.S. according to Virgil’s military assignments. They raised two sons. Nina was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Buddy, Roy, and Arthur (who passed in infancy); and her beloved husband. She leaves her sons Mike (Prairie Village, KS) and James Lee (Montana), daughters-in-law Kathy and Michael Ann, adopted son Jerry and his wife Donna; four grandchildren Amy Marie, Virgil James (wife Abby), Carson (wife Angela), and Jalene; four great-grandchildren Brianna, Eric, William, Benjamin and a great-granddaughter to arrive in a few weeks; an aunt, Thelma Gillespie (90) in Illinois; brother-in-law Bobby Adamson and his wife Terry (Florida); and a host of nieces and nephews (Florida and California). Nina was a woman of intelligence, talents, loyalty, mischievousness, fun, and laughter. Her family and friends feel blessed to have her life interwoven in theirs. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in the Wesley Covenant Chapel at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS at 11:00 a.m. Memorials are appreciated for Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145-1117.
