He was born February 23, 1940 in rural Richardson County, Nebraska, son of Ralph and Claudia vonBergen. Mike lettered in track, basketball and football in high school. We were so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Our families have been connected in one form or another dating back to Richardson Co for nearly 100 years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was so surprised to see the obituary for Mike. We had not kept in contact so I had no idea he lived so close and had been sick. I have not forgotten the time I was at Price Chopper when he called me by name and told me who he was! This after many years since I had seen either Mike or Margo. Sympathy and prayers for all the family.

Dear Stacy, Bobby, Spencer, and Valarie, Kay and Gram, I remember Mike as always having a smile on his face and a friendly greeting when I saw him in KC, either at his house, taking the kids over to swim, or at a family gathering. We was a very sweet man and I hope all your memories can be of some comfort during this hard time and in the future. Sending all my love and hugs!

May, Marc, and Stacie, first thanks to Stacie for the call last night, that met so much to me. Marc my son Steve still remembers the hot wheels track you gave him. Kay, I am so sorry to learn if Mike’s passing. I understand that for some reason we lost touch over the years but your friendship will always be a special one. Maybe it was the intence time, the late 60’s, it was formed or just what we had in common. I don’t know but that friendship took deep root. We lost Larry together and packed you off to California. It was a powerful friendship, and won’t be forgotten. Please accept my deepest sympathy in Mike’s loss.

    Kay and family,

I was very sad to hear of Mike’s passing. I just want to send my deepest sympathy to the whole family. I am sorry that we did not keep in closer contact with each other after high school. Mike and I were in the same class at Honey Creek where we had a lot of fun. The last time I saw Mike was at a Honey Creek reunion many years ago. Again, my sympathy and prayer go out to you at this time. Sincerely, Dale
