Michael Edward Darby

Michael Darby of Paola, Kansas, passed away at Olathe Medical Center on November 20, 2013.

He was a beacon of humor—quick with a joke and ornery gesture—that never shied away from an opportunity to make others laugh.

A celebration of life will be held at his son’s house on Sunday, November 24 from noon to six.

Haven’t slept much in a week. Really just getting by with whatever each day brings. I hope God blesses us all with peace and strength it will take to get through this. It is so very different than my Momma’s passing. I can’t really explain it. I am so deeply saddened by my big brother’s passing, it’s going to take much time for this to heal. He meant so much to me and we had such a rich & tight friendship that it left a hole in my heart that I will never be able to fill again. He was so special~~
Jordan was right when he said for us to remember him for the man he truly was, not for the last few years of his life! Michael was an amazing man!!

~~Thanks to everyone for all the prayers, thoughts & posts. Also the food and drinks too!! We, as a family, want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who reached out to us in our time of mourning the loss of Michael. He was at the very least, a unique individual and touched the hearts of many ~~
