Mechell Ann Caddell Briscoe

Briscoe, Mechell

Mechell Ann Caddell Briscoe, 52, Lee’s Summit, MO passed from this life on April, 10, 2017.

She was born February 23, 1965 in Orange, CA to Therese (Sawyer) and Michael Caddell. She was the oldest of three daughters. Her sisters are Christy Caddell, Leawood, KS and Kelly Smith, Fullerton, CA. Mechell grew up in St. Joseph, MO. She graduated from Central High School and maintained her friendships with her high school friends into her adult years. After high school, Mechell married and raised a family. She adored her children Sean, Abbey and Daniel and her nephews Alec and Zach and also Smoochie, her sister’s yellow Labrador retriever. She loved to dance and for many years was a member of the Missouri Western State College dance troupe. Mechell was known for her extremely funny sense of humor. She loved to laugh and tell jokes and funny stories and had a huge smile that would light up her whole face. Mechell was free-spirited and kind-hearted with a sweet personality and a warm and loving soul. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially cross-stitch and jewelry making. She inherited her love of music and bursting into song from her Uncles Mark and Sid and her mother, who named her after a Beatles song, although Mechell personally favored hair bands from the 80’s. Mechell will always be remembered for calling her sisters on the phone and engaging in group singing, especially the song, I Remember You by Skid Row. She will be remembered with fondness and love and never forgotten. Mechell was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, sisters, nephews, Uncle Mark (aka “Stupidhead”), Smoochie the yellow Labrador retriever and an extended family of cousins and wonderful friends.

All are welcome to a Memorial Celebration of Life for Mechell on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with Visitation one hour prior to service at the Downtown Abbey, 1202 Felix Street, St. Joseph, MO. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Center of Kansas City.

I love you Sis. It broke my heart to say goodbye. Hope you are singing and dancing in heaven.

An angel took our breath away
As she sat down by our side
An angel tried to comfort us
    As loving tears we cried
An angel wrapped her loving arms
    Around her ones, so dear
Another angel we all now have
    Knowing Mechell is near.

  3. Kelly Kaye on April 27, 2017 at 9:21 pm

It broke our hearts to lose you
    But you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you
That day that God called you home

    Love you Sister
    Always and Forever

    Rest easy my little friend
I hope chance bring us together again
    Again and again
    Like it has always been
    Like it always will be
    My little friend and me

    I love you
