Mary Margaret “M2” House
Mary Margaret “M2” House, 69, passed away peacefully and beautifully on Sunday, Oct 30, 2022. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 20, 1953. In 1971 she graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. She then graduated from The University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts and was a proud member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She went on to work professionally as a vocal performer and actor, a manager for Clarins USA, a manager for The Junior League Resale Store, and an Administrative Assistant at Country Club Christian Church where she was also a member. In the later years of her life, she instructed others in voice and performance. Eventually, Mary started her own business, M2M Studios, out of her home where she coached students of all ages in piano and voice lessons until she retired. She truly loved sharing her joy of music and performance with others and empowering them to nurture their talent.
Mary was full of fun, laughter and always the life of the party. Glitter was always an option in both life and in fashion. She had many interests; from antiques and doll collecting; to travel, fashion, art, and music. She was the Queen of the KC Renaissance Festival from 1982-1985. Her true passion was music and performing. She was an incredibly talented singer with a captivating presence on stage. She performed in commercial ads, talk shows, theatre musicals, chorus and choir recitals, birthdays, weddings, and funerals. She performed with such ease and beauty; her voice was so pure and moving.
She loved her family, friends, and cats greatly. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion. Always sending beautiful cards that she thoughtfully picked for family and friends; some have even been used as decorations during the holidays.
She is preceded by her parents, James T House II and Margaret F (Callahan) House, her ex-husband David Archer, and her nephew Bryant House. She leaves her brother James T House III and his wife Wanda, nieces and nephews James, Maggie, Joe, Jon, Josh, and Katie. And countless extended family and friends.
She was a unique and special soul. An amazing daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Truly one of a kind. We all feel so fortunate to have had her in our lives and she is greatly loved and missed. We are celebrating that she can once again sing, dance and laugh.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 17, 2022, at the Country Club Christian Church located at 6101 Ward Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64113. The visitation will begin at 1 pm followed by a service at 2 pm.
