Marie Etzenhouser

Marie Etzenhouser passed away on August 11, 2021 at the age of 80. She is survived by daughter, Missy, son Russell IV and his wife Beth and grandsons, Russell V and Robert, son Bill and his wife Shelley and grandchildren Claire and Brian and Claire’s husband, Collin. Marie was born in LaGrange, Georgia on October 26, 1940. She started her nurses training at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta in 1958, where she met the love of her life, Russell D. Etzenhouser, a physician completing his internship. Her nursing career was cut short by the arrival of their first child. Later in life, Marie became well known for her catering and cooking classes. But her real passion was her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and opened her heart and home to many dear friends.

Because of the unusual times we live in, there will be no funeral service. But there will be a celebration of her life when it is safer for all of us to gather.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Brookridge Day School (for their library) 9555 Hadley, Overland Park, KS 66212.

Sorrow can’t express the loss of Marie. She filled a void 30 years ago to us Batiz girls when we lost our own grandmother. Please know that we are with you at this very difficult time, and we share with you in the sadness you and your family are feeling.
We all wish you comfort and peace during this difficult time, and know how sad we are that she is gone. We love you all very much.
