Margaret Frances (White) Hedden

Margaret Hedden passed away June 27, 2012, at Presbyterian Manor in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born October 10, 1940, in Brookfield, Missouri, daughter of  Harriet Clyde (Wine) White and Ernest Leroy White. She was formerly married to James Patrick Carter and James Dixon. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, James Patrick Carter, Jr.  Survivors include her husband, James Hedden, sister Linda K. Mason and brother Michael Thomas White.

Margaret enjoyed a career as a beautician and later at the Kansas City Star where she made many friends. She was a talented singer and worked with a number of bands in her younger days. She was a big hearted person who went out of her way to help people and animals in need, even though she herself was afflicted with health problems, most notably multiple sclerosis, which in the end was an obstacle she could not overcome. She maintained a positive outlook and good humor to the end and will be missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee 10901 Johnson Drive.

The family requests no flowers and suggest contributions to MS Society or charitable organization of your choice.
