Lynn Harrington Nichols

A loving Mother and Grandmother, Lynn Renee Nichols’ battle with illness came to a sorrowful end on Saturday, December 14, 2013.

Born November 28, 1958, in Austin, Minnesota, Ms. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Lynn Nichols in 1994, her mother Belva Harrington in 2006 and her father Cecil Harrington just a few weeks ago. She is survived by her son Brandon, daughter-in-law Monica, two grandsons, Austin and Logan, eight sisters and brothers, William, Patricia, Joan, Cecil, Bob, Jan, Jerry and Joe and their spouses, as well as her loving partner Bill.

In life, Lynn was always working; most recently as a National Collections Assistant for an Overland Park credit corporation, until 2004 when her series of illnesses no longer allowed. While she always had full time employment, being the single mother of a teenage boy was her most rewarding life’s work. Ms. Nichols also enjoyed bowling, Chiefs football, and cheering her son on during any sporting adventure in which he partook. Number six in a line of nine children, she found ways to surround herself with those she loved, on a regular basis, though what made her happiest was spending time with her two grandchildren, ages 6 and 1.

Lynn touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, December 20, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hope, Mount Moriah Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri.

What a wonderful woman, I enjoyed taking care of Lynn in the hospital for the past two years. She always had the best snacks to share with us. And great stories. She will be missed!!

I have fond memories of times spent with Lynn over the many years we worked together at Afco. I pray peace surrounds your family through this difficult time.
