Louis G. “Louie” Mesa

Louis G. “Louie” Mesa, 54, longtime resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away March 27, 2012 at the home of his eldest daughter, Amity Cardenas in Gardner, Kansas. He heroically battled his illness and was surrounded by his family and his closest friends at the time of his passing. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Grandview Park, 1906 East 4th Avenue, Hutchinson with Military Honors.

He was born July 25, 1957 in Hutchinson, son of Louis and Socorro V. Mesa. He served in the U.S. Navy during the 1970’s. Everyone who knew Louie realized his greatest passion was fishing. He also loved to camp, play Texas Holdem with friends, ride his motorcycle, tell stories and eat Mexican food. He will forever be remembered as “The Comedian” as he gave everyone many side aches with his funny jokes. His “happy” personality was his gift.

Louie is survived by three daughters; Amity Cardenas and Jayme Mesa of Gardner, and Crystal Mesa of Hutchinson, the mother of his children, Terri Mesa, nine grandchildren; Emilio, Diego, Reyna, Dominic, Angelina, Yasmine, Aleycia, Armando and Marisa, three sisters, Maria Clark, Hope Mesa and Margaret Lavenbarg, a brother Greg Mesa and his La Familia nava Valenzuela, Mexico.

We will miss you, Louie. You will always be remembered as will you smile. You live forever in our hearts and in Heaven. Rest in peace, Dad. We love you.

I am so heartbroken to hear of the loss of your daddy, brother and friend. I’ve known Louie for decades, but had moved away to Nevada, so hadn’t seen him in a really long time. He was always happy, no matter the situation. He had the best outlook on life even in the direst of times.

My heartfelt condolences to you all. Praying for peace and comfort and God’s protective angels to carry you ALL through the grieving.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all! I know from experience how hard it is to lose your daddy, and even though I don’t know you all personally, I had the pleasure of knowing your dad 20 years ago as he was a good friend of my mama’s! He just so happened to give me my very first car! Man I loved that car πŸ™‚
Your dad was a very nice man and funny! I will always remember him because of his generosity, and have a very hilarious memory of a camping trip we all took to Cheney Lake one summer.
I haven’t seen Margaret in years (would love to hear from you) and also have found memories of your grandmother Socorro…I wish we had stayed in contact, but I wanted you all to know how much I appreciate your dad helping me out as a teenager. πŸ™‚
