Lois Crabtree Green
Lois Crabtree Green was born December 19, 1928. She lived in Lawrence Kansas with sister Bertha Jean, (Bertie) Sarah (Sally), and Ina Lee (Pinky). On January 2, 1949 she married Delbert Green, also from Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Crabtree, mother, Nellie Crabtree; sisters, Sarah Givens Westegrin, Ina Lee Green, and Bertha Jean Lindell. Lois leaves behind her husband Delbert R. Green, four children, Linda Link and husband Fred, Carol Christensen and husband Jim, Scott Green and wife Bridget, and Anna Ellison and husband Lee; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Lois passed away early August 16, 2014 after an extended illness she battled most of her life. Her family was by her side singing, praying. talking and caring for her until her last breath.
Lois was a Military Service Wife (USAF), mother to four young ones as their father served all over this country and abroad. She and her husband worked real estate together many years. They moved to Arizona for retirement, then Arkansas and finally back home with her family. She loved watching her children laugh, tease and love on each other at family gatherings. She could not hear much of it, but she knew the joy and it blessed her.
She raised her children within the church even though she was not able to attend as she would have loved to as her illness progressed. But her legacy and the seeds she allowed to be planted in our young hearts still grow and blossom today. Her words to us were always “I love you, YOU KNOW!” And we do!
