John Herman Pusch

John Herman Pusch, 85, Leawood, Kansas, died Monday, June 6, 2022.
John was born August 11, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Theodore and Hilda Emma (Fuchs) Pusch. He grew up in Mission, Kansas, and was a graduate of Rosedale High School. He had an associate degree in mechanical engineering and used his degree at Bendix (now Honeywell). He took great pride in his work on nuclear missiles in the 60s-80s. John dearly loved drag racing during the same period. He was an owner/chief mechanic of multiple dragsters and funny cars. He was inducted to the NHRA Division 5 Hall of Fame in 2002.
John married Laura Suzanne Pusch on April 2, 1969. They had their only child, a son, Michael John Pusch, who was his care provider and true advocate later in his life. John was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne, his mother, Hilda Pusch, and his father, Theodore Pusch. He is survived by his son, Michael Pusch and his wife, Kristen, and two grandsons, Garrett and Logan Pusch of Overland Park, Kansas, and his sister Maxine Tarson, Lenexa, Kansas.
Service
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm at the Fireside Chapel at the Church of the Resurrection on June 11, 2022, with a private interment at Orient Cemetery, in Harrisonville, Missouri.
