JoAnn Marie Sherman

JoAnn Marie Sherman has passed away in hospice care on September 17th of 2020 from her five-year battle with dementia with her family by her side. She was a beautiful woman who her entire life thought of and took care of others before herself. She was patient beyond belief, giving, and a loving soul.
JoAnn was born on January 25th of 1933, at home in Englewood, Colorado to one Vivian Marie and Carl Fred Miller. She worked as a Dispute Resolution Officer of the Court in Kansas City, Kansas until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Shawnee, Kansas since 1972. She also was a member of a 12-step program for 48 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents and older brother Kenneth Miller. JoAnn leaves behind: her younger brother James Miller of Colorado; son James Edward Sherman and daughter-in-law Suzanne Sherman of Desoto, Kansas; daughter Judy Ann Sherman of Shawnee, Kansas; and three grandchildren: Erick James Sherman of Junction City, Kansas; Kirsta Annette Sherman and Matthew Lee Sherman of Shawnee, Kansas.
Service
There will be a Memorial Service in the future at St. Luke’s Church as her wishes were to have her ashes buried in the memorial garden there.
