I met Joan and Jim 43 years ago when we became neighbors in Rockville, MD. Our friendship blossomed immediately and I cherished our relationship. Joan was a close, loyal friend. We looked alike and we often laughed at the fact that we confused our neighbors. Joan was highly intelligent, beautiful inside and out and one of the best friends I ever had. I extend my love and sympathy to Rondi and Marci.
May this note of condolence help to lighten your hearts and brighten your way. Love, Estelle and Ron Salen

Joan and I lived next door to each other for most of our child hood. We stayed close and spent my brithday together until she moved. We always said we were sisters but had different parents. I will all ways cherish the times we had as children and as adults. She was a kind thoughtful friend. I was so happy when she married Jim and when Rondi was born what a Joy to share I loved her as a sister and I will miss her so very much
