Jeanine Lane

Jeanine Marie Lane died at the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care Home on December 8, 2019.  She was born in Dunkirk, NY on July 25, 1936 the daughter of Frank and Eileen Lane.  She attended Fillmore High School where she graduated valedictorian in 1954.  Jeanine attended Alfred University in Alfred, NY. She moved to the Johnson County, Kansas area in 1974 and worked for decades as an IT Specialist at the IRS and USDA.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Call; son-in-law John Dean; and nephew Daniel Lane.  She is survived by her children Frank (Anne) Emmerich, Steve Emmerich and Laura Browne, step-son Adam (Megan) Call; brothers Monsignour Frank Lane and Dan Lane; sister Joann Carnes; first husband and father of her children Charles Emmerich; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

She found great pleasure spending time with her grandchildren especially the four grand-daughters (Bella, Sophie, Lucy and Emme) that lived close to her. She loved KU basketball, Kansas City Chiefs football, Jack Stack Barbecue, jazz music, shopping, spending time with friends and living in Overland Park, KS.


A Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Shawnee Mission on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 10am. 

Memorial Contributions:

Donations to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care are suggested in lieu of flowers.

    I’m so sorry to hear about Jeanine’s passing. I got to know her over several years as I was one of her nurses. We would always have such a good conversations about the Royals, Chiefs, and KU. She was so proud of her grandchildren, she always had a story for me about them. She will be missed, I’m so glad our paths crossed. God Bless.

    I’m so sorry that I missed the home going service for Jeanine. I’m just becoming aware of her passing. She and I spent many good times together. I valued her friendship and wish I hadn’t lost contact with her. My prayer and love is with you family. I will always have you in my thoughts.

    Deepest sympathy to the family on the loss of Jeanine, and to all who loved her. I am thankful for 30 years of friendship with her, which started as co-workers and remained after her retirement. She was a lovely and caring friend, and will be greatly missed.

      I am so sorry for your loss.. I was not aware of her passing until today. Jeannine and I formed a friendship when we worked togethertat USDA My heart and prayers goes out to her family.
