J. Robert Grimes


Robert Grimes, 76, of Shawnee, Kansas, died October 6, 2010 at the KU Medical Center. He was born October 2, 1934 in San Diego, CA, son of John William and Louise Barbara Grimes. Bob worked as a Law Enforcement Officer with the California Highway Patrol before working with the US Government Departments of Treasury and Justice. Bob also worked with the US Customs Service in New Orleans for 23 years. He was very involved with three home owners associations.

Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann, daughters, Kimberly (Dan Tallman) Miller-Tallman, Bonner Springs, KS and Carrie Snyder, Salt Lake City, UT and son Ronald R.(Shigemi) Grimes, Germany. Bob also is survived by 8 grandchildren; Kevin, Leslie, Ben, Robbie, Kori, Kirk, Kelsey and Katie.

A private family celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Lake of the Ozarks. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

    My prayers are with you and Bob. I felt very blessed to meet and get to know Bob during the short few months that I worked with him concerning the needs for T & C.

    JoAnn, Bob and I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We know this is not an easy time for you and pray that God will give you the comfort you need. Wish there was something we could do to ease the pain but realize that all we can do is to let you know we are thinking of you and your family.
