Hazel Eloise Kemery Kotrba
Hazel Kotrba, 80 passed away January 7, 2012, at the Golden Living Center, Lansing, Kanas. Mrs. Kotrba was born August 26, 1931, in Columbia City, Indiana, to parents Chauncey and Susie Kemery. She traveled extensively in the United States and later resided in West Germany. She moved to Leavenworth, Kansas , where she lived with her daughter’s family since December 1983. Mrs. Kotrba worked and volunteered at various organizations. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Leavenworth, Kansas. She loved puzzles, rug making, board and card games, reading, walking and visiting neighbors and watching granddaughters’ tennis and volleyball games, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kotrba fought cancer for ten years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Foster; granddaughter Holly Cott and her husband Toby Cott, great-granddaughter Daisy Cott; granddaughter Casey King and her husband Caleob King, great-grandsons Noah King and Gideon King; sister Andaline Kemery Christ Brown and her husband Donald Brown; sister in-law Ruth Merritt Kemery and numerous family members residing in Indiana.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church , 2101 10th Avenue , Leavenworth. Memorial funds may be sent to the American Cancer Society. The family expreses their appreciation to caregivers at Golden Living Center and the Ascera Care hospice.
