Grace Emily Jones
Grace Jones, 95 years old of Riverside, Missouri passed peacefully on Thursday, October 27 after living a very full and long life. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, John Robert Jones, son Paul Hougham, step-daughter Jenny Cecil, her parents and four sisters. She is survived by her three children, Pat Seyfert, Glen Hougham, Janet Light, step-son John David Jones, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, daughter in-law Sonja Hougham and son in-law John Cecil.
Grace served her country during World War II by joining the Marine Corps and served in North Carolina, Washington D.C. as well as San Diego, California. She was born and raised in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and moved to the Kansas City area 1946 to marry, have and raise her children.
Grace was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, an artist/painter, seamstress, lover of nature, student of spirituality, avid reader, author, nurturer and a very strong woman. Her years of life experience assisted her in helping others when she worked at the Unity Help Line at Unity Church at Unity Village, MO.
One of her passions in life was painting landscapes and sharing her creativity by gifting her art work to others. Everyone whom received her art work will appreciate the paintings for years.
Her humor, smile and nurturing way will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, Missouri on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm.
