Gerald F. Proske


Gerald F. Proske, 73, of Overland Park, Kansas, died December 1, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Gerry was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked for the Famous Barr Company and it was there that he met his beautiful and wonderful wife, Patricia. In 1970, Gerry left Famous Barr to help start a company, Formby Refinishing Products, in the Memphis, Tennessee area and the family moved to Memphis in 1971. In 1978 they sold the business and moved to Prairie Village, Kansas and Gerry was a manufacturer’s representative. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf and loved to fish.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Patricia, his sons Greg and Jeffery, his sister and brother-in-law, Nan and Joe Pollock and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, KC, MO 64145.

    Hello Pat,

    I received your Christmas Card and was so sad about the news of Gerry. I hope you and the boy’s are dealing well with such a great loss. Everyone love his great humor and zest for life along with his Memphis Bar B Que.

    Glad to hear you are playing tennis and staying busy. Retired this year and loing it! Why not plan a trip to Florida this winter and come see us.

    Jeff, Greg and Mrs. Proske: I have very fond memories of all the time I spent at your home in high school.
