Pete was born June 13, 1937, in Topeka, KS, to Susan Snyder Hoffstot and William Henry Hoffstot, Jr. Pete grew up in Kansas City attending Pembroke Country Day School and then later University of Missouri at Kansas City, completing his bachelor’s degree from College of the Pacific in Honolulu. Pete was an avid camera enthusiast, making photography his profession. A beloved father and grandfather, Pete will be remembered for his love of trains, photography, and the care he took of his cats and backyard visitors (birds, squirrels, etc).

Pete is survived by his daughter, Heather, and son-in-law, Ron, of Spring, TX, his son, William (Bill) and daughter-in-law, Stacey, of Eastvale, CA, and five grandchildren: Jacob, Mary Meghan and Sadie Thomas and William and Joseph Hoffstot. Pete requested to be cremated with his ashes spread in his favorite places: Honolulu near Diamondhead where his parents retired and lived, in Grand Lake, Colorado, where his family owned a summer cabin growing up, and finally at his home in Olathe, where he spent 35 years.

Seems like yesterday that we were in our teens. Good memories of you in KC, Grand Lake, and Hawaii. Fun times.

  2. Arly Allen Says:

I remember Pete from Pem-Day. He was a year older and seemed much wiser than I. I admired him from afar and thought of him as a very gentle man.
