Back in the 80’s Fred, Jeff & I lived together in Columbus, OH.Fred was like a big brother to me and Jeff was like a little brother. I was in a bad way back then and Fred took me in. I treated him badly and he was still my friend. We lost touch 30 years ago and I was so sorry to hear that he had passed. I’m sure Fred had no idea how many people he has affected.

I had met Fred’s daughter, Debbie when she visited. We are so saddened to learn of Fred’s passing, learning just now, so many months after the fact.

I had moved next door in the duplex in 1996. He and I embarked on sealing both our driveways (he had a real gift when it came to convincing the Landlord, he didn’t take guff from anybody).

Later, Dave and I married and moved from the duplex in 2009. Dave would run into Fred at Costco where he works and they would chat.

Tonight we took a drive through the old neighborhood hoping to catch Fred at home and found there were new people living there. Dave mentioned not having seen Fred in months and we wanted to try to find out how he was doing.

Fred was a gentleman and a friend and he is sorely missed in a world where there are few that can hold a candle to his honor and integrity. We are left with fond memories of Fred and those we will have forever, as will you.

God Bless You All, Connie and Dave Horsley
