Edward Arthur Parker, Jr.

Edward Arthur Parker, Jr., 41 years old, born December 31st, 1980, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on June 13, 2022 at 2:13pm from a long battle with cancer.

After Eddy graduated from Gardner Edgerton High School, he worked for Wal Mart as assistant manager for about 14 years and then as a sales leader for Bimbo Bakeries for about 3 years, where he worked up till the day he could no longer work.  Eddy was a hard worker who never missed a day.  He was strong and fought this battle bravely for three years.

Eddy found joy in the simple things of life. He loved fishing, bonfires, cooking, sharing a drink with friends and family, and taking a ride on his Harley any chance he could. Eddy’s most important aspect of his life were his children. Eddy would do anything to keep a smile on his children’s faces. Eddy also loved helping anyone who asked for help. As long as his work was done, he was always available to help in any way he could. Edward was a very intelligent man. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do, from accounting, to construction work, to being a mechanic. If it was within his ability Eddy was always helping others.

In 2018, Eddy met Crystal while working at Wal Mart.  They were married in April 2021.  Eddy and Crystal have one son together, Adam Martinez-Parker. Crystal has two daughters from previous marriage, Nyah and Mia Juarez.  Eddy has two daughters from a previous marriage, Samantha Parker and Madison Parker and three step daughters Sophie, Loralie, Payton Gunn.

Eddy was predeceased by his Grandma Opal Williams and Grandpa Claude and Grandma Helen Parker, his Aunts Ruby Wheeler, and Claudia Thornton, and Uncle Russell Parker, and Gene Williams. He is survived by his parents, Edward Parker, Sr. and Darlene Parker. He is also survived by five siblings and their spouses, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, many cousins, and tons of friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Gardner Senior Center, 128 E Park Street, Gardner on Sunday, June 19th from 5pm to 9pm.

I got to watch you grow up and you became a strong man able to fight cancer with courage and strength. We all wish we have that kind of courage. You were our only red head child to remind us that your grandpa was a red head. You and Tim grew up together and you were like another child you two were together so often. We will miss you. You will have a lot of welcoming arms to welcome you so go in peace. We love you
