Doris “Sue” Taylor Cole
Doris “Sue” Taylor Cole, 91, formerly of Lenexa, Kansas died peacefully on Monday, March 20 2017 at Aberdeen Village in Olathe Kansas. She was born in Desloge, Missouri and grew up in Kansas City. She graduated from Southwest High School and attended UMKC where she met and married James B. Cole in 1945. Jim’s long career as an officer in the USAF meant that they were able to travel and live in California, Texas, New Mexico, Puerto Rico and England until he retired in Kansas City in 1973. Sue was happy to be back living near family and friends. She is survived by daughters Mary Langley (Phil), Kathleen O’Leary (Michael), Lisa Kronenburg (Robert), four grandchildren, Travis Langley (Katie), Michael Langley (Jill), Patrick O’Leary (Amanda) and Ella Kronenburg. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, Bennett and Ellen Langley and Miles and Owen Langley. Sue was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, her dear grand-daughter, Karen Langley Gunderson in 1996 and sister Jet Rawlings in April 2016. Sue will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her warmth, kindness, wisdom and brilliant sense of humor.
Memorial ceremony will be 10 am, Friday, March 31, at St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church 6630 Nall Avenue, Mission, Kansas where she was a member for over 35 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church or City Union Mission.
