Donna Trussell, 82, of Overland Park Kansas, passed away April 11th at home. Donna was born April 26th, 1938 in Beloit, Kansas. She married William Trussell on June 3rd, 1956. Shortly after they moved to Honolulu Hawaii where Bill served in the Navy for three years. Four children were born to the union.
After moving around for several years, Donna took up permanent residency in Overland Park Kansas in 1971.
Donna owned and worked at Mrs. T’s Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop in Overland Park. She also worked for Venture Department Store. Then for many years she worked for Barney Ashner Homes until she retired in 2010.
Donna is preceded in death by her dad and mom, Leslie and Dortha Parrish, and her sister, Karyl Brandon. Donna leaves four children, Cindy Deamos (Chris), Sheri Lindsey (Carl), and Shawn Trussell all of Overland Park, and Shane Trussell of Lenexa. Donna also leaves eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
Donna was a fighter. She was a survivor of both breast and lung cancer. She enjoyed life and loved to have fun. She loved to travel and especially loved her tour of Europe, trips to Hawaii, and many trips to Las Vegas with friends and family. She was a member of the Overland Park Elk’s Lodge for many years.
Donna made friends everywhere she went, and many called her ‘Mom’. She had a love for life, faith, family, friends, and her dogs.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Donna at the Overland Park Elk’s Lodge – 10201 W. 85th St. Overland Park Kansas on Saturday May 22nd at 2:00 pm.
