Donna J. Keehn


Donna J. Keehn, 88 died on December 31, 2020 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.

Donna is survived by her daughter Janis A. Henkel, son-in-law Albert E. Henkel, of Shawnee, KS. Granddaughter Heather (Don) Mayfield of Overland Park, KS. Great Grandsons Benjamin and Henry Mayfield of Overland Park, KS. Brother Glenn Hartsock (Judi) of Rogers, AR. Brother-in-law Delmar (Marge) Keehn of St. Edward, NE.  

Donna was born August 20, 1932, on the family farm in rural Albion, NE. to Earl and Eva (Hinton) Hartsock.

Donna married Vernon Keehn on September 3, 1949, the couple had a daughter Janis. The lived on a farm South of St. Edward until they retired and moved to Sun City, AZ. They later moved to Bella Vista, AR. She moved to Lenexa, KS after her husband passed away. They were married for 68 years. 

Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church her whole life. She served on various committees, sang in the church Choir in St. Edward, Sun City, and Bella Vista. She also worked in the church office in Sun City.

Donna was past Matron of Eastern Star #89 in Fullerton, NE. She served as a Paige for the Grand Chapter of Nebraska. She was a member of PEO Chapters in AZ, AR, and KS.  

Donna enjoyed traveling around the world, reading, sewing, and Tap Dancing with the Sun City Steppers. She and Vernon enjoyed going to dances and were members of Fullerton Dance Club.

Donna was preceded in death by her Husband Vernon, her parents Earl and Eva Hartsock, her brother Dayle Hartsock. Her infant Grandson Bradley Henkel.


A Celebration of Life is being planned at a future date at the Highland Church at 371 Glasgow RD, Bella Vista, AR.

Memorials may be directed to the Kansas City Hospice House and Palliative Care at 1200 Wornall, Kansas City, MO.

    Janis and Family, I was sorry to read about your Mother in the Albion News. I remember your parents as a classy couple, and I’m sure they had a great life together. They are together again, dancing on the golden streets of Heaven! With sincere sympathy to you and your family.
