Donald E. Jordan

Donald E. Jordan, 88, a life-long resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2021 at his home. He was born the second twin to Joseph and Anne Jordan. Don enjoyed sharing that his twin sister broke his leg in her rush to be born first. Don was proud of his Irish roots, his designation as a “Salty Nut” at the original Peanut (50th & Main), and 45 years with Smith St. John restaurant supply. As a salesman/sales manager, Don was a trusted consultant to restaurant and bar owners throughout the Midwest and he designed many local commercial kitchens such as Andres, the other Peanuts and the Cashew to name a few. He loved going to estate sales, collecting, going to his lake place, and meeting new people. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He is directly survived by Dorothea, his wife of almost 60 years, his daughter Denise (Kevin) Brown, sisters Joann Calvert and twin Delores (Joe) Dyche, and a large Jordan/Dougherty clan originating in the Kansas City area.
Service
Don asked to be cremated with no formal services planned. A Mass in his name will be said at Visitation Catholic Church on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 8:15AM.
We will miss you and I know if there is a bottle opener where you are – you will collect it! Safe travels and fair winds!
Rest peacefully in Heaven Uncle Don.
