David W. Powers

Powers obit photo (1)

The family of David W. Powers, 63 of Kansas City, regret to announce his passing August 24, 2021 at his home in Argentine.

David was born in Pulaski County, VA to Virginia Catherine & William Hubert Powers.  He loved music, vinyl records, motorcycles, & attending the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS.  More than anything, he loved his family and friends.  He was a safe “home” to many & always the life of the party.  He loved to be surrounded by women & kept his sense of humor down to his final moments, smiling at the mention of women.

David was a forever bachelor, survived by his daughter, Jenny Josaphat, & husband Chris Josaphat & their 4 children Angel, Layne, Jayden, & Jamison of Lenexa Kansas. He leaves behind a mass of both biological and chosen family who miss his SPICE more than words can express.

Per his request, a celebration of life will be held at 2pm at his home on what would have been his 64th birthday, September 10, 2021.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, cards, or donations, please consider donating to the KU Cancer Center as a tribute in his name. Without their loving care, we wouldn’t have had the past 5 years with him.  https://www.kansashealthsystem.com/giving/donate
