David C. Snider passed away peacefully Mon April 25th after a brief illness. He was 75. His parents were Daniel Henry and Helen Hawk Snider. His only surviving relative is Dalene M. Syrett of Kansas City.  After graduating from Shawnee Mission East in 1964, Dave attended the University of Kansas where he was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity.  After graduating, Dave went to work for IBM and retired after a long career.  He then went to work on a part-time basis for National Crop Insurance Services which turned into a full-time job. Dave retired after 10 years.

Dave was a staunch supporter of the Salvation Army and Wayside Waifs.

Dave loved to talk with his many friends on all subjects but especially about the Chiefs, the Royals, and his Jayhawks. He had a weekly session during “happy hour” with a group of friends on a regular basis and he always loved a lively conversation.

In lieu of a service, Bob & Barb McLaughlin will have a gathering of friends for a celebration and remembrance of Dave’s life.  This will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, June the 4th at the Normandy Place Clubhouse on 12800 Linden.

From our high school days at SME, Dave was always a kind and gentle person, never pretentious. Proud to be his friend. Great athlete on the basketball court and baseball field. We lost a fine individual.

I remember Dave on the basketball court at Shawnee Mission East. I also remember his gentle way of speaking and think of him as a kind person. I have not seen him since those days but I am saddened at his passing.

Lots of fond memories of time spent with Dave.
A superior athlete in his day.
So sorry to hear of his passing.
