Cynthia Armstrong, 64, of Olathe, KS, passed away on May 5, 2022 following a 6-year battle with cancer. 
Cindy was born to the late John and Eleanor McLaughlin, on July 27, 1957, in Lafayette, IN. She attended Purdue University where she met the love of her life – John Armstrong. They were married on October 25, 1980, and lived in various states until eventually settling in Overland Park, KS in 1992. 
Cindy worked for Johnson County Community College in the Dental Hygiene Clinic where she was able to mentor and influence dozens of students. She was passionate about her family and loved animals, travel, and gardening. Cindy was the true definition of a “cancer warrior” as she survived a Breast cancer diagnosis at 31 and then fought for 6 more years after being diagnosed w/ Endometrial cancer in 2016. She was also by her husband’s side every step of the way during his 4-year battle with Kidney cancer. 
Cindy is survived by her two children: David Helstrong (wife Ashley,) and Catherine Smith (husband Shaun); as well as three grandchildren: Avery (5), Lucas (8), and Caden (16.) They will miss their “Mo” very much. She is also survived by three siblings: Kevin McLaughlin, Donald McLaughlin, and Sue McLaughlin.

We will celebrate her life with a visitation from 9:30 am-10:30 am with Mass to follow at 10:30 am on Friday May 20, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church,11300 W 103rd Street Overland Park, Kansas 66214.
Food will be provided at the church after the service and we will then proceed to join Cindy’s urn with her husband at Resurrection Cemetery in the Holy Family Mausoleum.
