We found the notice in the pile of newspapers after coming back from a trip and wanted to offer our sysmpathy though it’s late. Roger and I remember Denny fondly from our time in Overland Park. We had a lot of fun in those days. We vividly remember some of our adventures, such as the camping trip to Chase County Lake. Roger and Linda Johnson

    Ben,
I was saddened to hear of your loss. Your Dad was a great man. I have many fond memories of him. I can still picture him standing in your kitchen with a chocolate bar in his hand dunking it into a big bucket of peanut butter that was resting on the butcher block- a man after my own heart. The last time I saw him he came to my rescue – I needed help jump starting my truck – so I wondered down the hill, and he was there and willing to lend a hand.

I am sure you will miss him.

I have many fond memories of racing sailboats around the lakes with Dennis. Talking to him about ways to make our boats go faster and how much fun it was to spend our weekends at the lake doing something we love. My condolences to his family.

I remember Denny getting out his big wrench and opening up the fire hydrant in the neighborhood when it was very hot outside in the summertime. All of the neighborhood kids came running out of their houses in their bathing suits to run through the water that was blasting out, it was quite a sight!

Denny was a great man, he told it like it was and I appreciated that. I remember a particular Thanksgiving when I couldn’t be with my family, but Denny and the Jones’ invited me over and made me feel right at home. Thank you for your friendship and the time I have spent with your family.

Dennis was a kind and gentle soul with an adventurous spirit. I enjoyed sailing and crewing with him (even though we did tip our boat over:). He will be missed.
